First Day in China

Yesterday we woke up and went to one of the 7 government registered churches in Beijing. There are only 7 churches for a city of 15 million people. It wasn’t what I expected. JC is definitely still moving in these churches, much more then before. It was a more formal format, with pews, hymn singing, and a robbed choir. In the afternoon we ate lunch at a famous Peking Duck restaurant at the Silk Market. Yes, the “good” parts of the duck just happen to be the skin, liver, and duck feet. I’m eating some adventurous things while here in China. The weather didn’t cooperate with us yesterday, so we spend the afternoon shopping at the silk market (an interesting experience in trying to bargaining) and then took time to practice our VBS, skits, and organize the donations for the orphanage. We’re getting ready for our first day at the orphanage right now…can’t wait to see the kids!
